Position: Police Officer
The City of Marysville Police Division (MPD) is creating an eligibility list for Police Officer/Police Recruit positions. Eligibility lists are valid for eight months and may extend to twelve months.
Salary
With OPOTA Certification: $62,088.00-$86,153.60 annually
Without OPOTA Certification: Starting pay of $49,960.77

Requirements
Age: Minimum of 21 at time of hire
Education: High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred
Driver's License: Valid Ohio driver's license required
Certification: Ohio Police Officer's Training Council (OPOTA) preferred at time of appointment
Background: Must have a clean criminal and driving history
Language: Must be able to read and speak English
Disqualifiers:
Felony conviction or controlled substance violations
Poor work history or dismissal for misconduct
Financial instability, such as unpaid debts or recent bankruptcy
Deception or false statements during the application process
Preferred Qualifications
Previous law enforcement experience
Lateral hires (transfers from other Ohio law enforcement agencies) encouraged, with accelerated starting wages and prior service vacation credit
