About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Packaging Engineer to lead the development of innovative packaging solutions in a dynamic, industrial manufacturing environment. This is a long term contract role. This role will support multiple manufacturing sites within our Land Vehicle Americas Segment, executing packaging projects from concept to commercialization for both current and future product lines.

Key Responsibilities:
Packaging Engineering Responsibilities:
Lead complex packaging projects with minimal supervision.
Create and approve engineering drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, or similar CAD software.
Manage packaging qualification activities including protocol creation, test execution, and data analysis.
Conduct packaging risk assessments and root cause analyses.
Plan and coordinate packaging line trials and post-trial evaluations.
Partner with sourcing and production to assess cost and feasibility of proposed packaging.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities or improvements to packaging.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality, Sourcing, and Product Development teams to develop and commercialize effective packaging solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of packaging development experience in an industrial/assembly manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
Self-starter with strong initiative and ability to work independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SolidWorks, AutoCAD (or equivalent).
Experience with AS400 and Microsoft D365 is a plus.
Experience with sustainable packaging solutions is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods in a manufacturing environment.
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
