POSITION SUMMARY: The soccer assistant coach will assist the head coach in providing an environment for the soccer team members to grow spiritually, socially, and physically as the team pursues competitive excellence while abiding by the University mission to grow Christlike character.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will serve as a role model while providing Biblically based counseling and discipleship to team members and act as “liaison” between coach and team. Of utmost importance is the loyalty to the head coach and program above personal or “outside” agendas. The assistant coaching role is relational building bridges between the head coach and team. The assistant coach will support both the head coach and head assistant on any tasks regarding the team.
Specific Duties
An applicant must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Each applicant must agree with and affirm the Bob Jones University creed, mission (see https://www.bju.edu/about/creed-mission.php) and core biblical doctrines regarding areas such as the Bible, the triune God, man and salvation, etc. Employees are expected to maintain a conservative lifestyle and support Bob Jones University’s positions on issues such as beverage alcohol and addictive substances, creation, marriage and human sexuality and the sanctity of life, etc., (https://www.bju.edu/about/positions.php). Employees are to be active members of a local Bible believing church which holds orthodox theology.
